Holy Orders

Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry… Those who receive the sacrament of Holy Orders are consecrated in Christ’s name “to feed the Church by the word and grace of God.”
— the Catechism of the Catholic Church

Holy Orders specifically involves the ordination of priests and deacons, but there are a variety of vocations to be found in Catholic life.

If you are interested in receiving more information about vocations as a priest, deacon, sister, brother, or lay minister in the Catholic Church, please feel free to speak with one of our priests or staff members here at Good Shepherd by calling (310) 285-5425. Or, you can visit the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Vocations web page for contact information and further resources.
