Spiritual Direction Ministry—A way to draw closer to God
Spiritual direction is an ancient ministry, a unique one-to-one relationship in which a trained person assists another person in the search for an ever closer union of love with God. Directors listen carefully to the unfolding of the directees’ lives, to help them discern the ways in which God is leading them. The practice of spiritual direction consists much more of ‘holy listening’ rather than direction in the sense of offering guidance or direct advice. If you would like to find someone who can assist you in deepening your relationship with God, contact Sr. Virginia at (310) 285-5425, and she can put you in touch with a qualified director.
Looking for a quiet time with God? Time just to BE? Christian Meditation is held in the Sacred Heart Chapel in the Parish Center on Tuesdays, 7 – 8 p.m., Thursdays 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Saturdays 9 – 10 a.m. You are always welcome.

Did You Know?
Common tricks strangers use to lure children.
Are you familiar with the news show segments testing children’s safety knowledge? They often feature “strangers” trying to lure children with offers of ice cream, modeling contracts, or other goodies. They know that while many children are taught to avoid strangers, they may not be taught to recognize abduction tactics.
For more information on common tricks predators may use to lure children from The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, visit http://www.kidsmartz.org/CommonTricks.
